Free is the app on your Mac.
Pro is everything that leaves it.

Scanning your drives, matching your bounces, tags, notes and playback are free forever, for as many songs as you have. Pro is the part with a server bill behind it — and it isn't on sale yet.

Pro isn't on sale yet — the payment side is still being set up. Everything in Free works today, and nothing you do now gets in the way of turning Pro on later.

Why the line is drawn there. DAWTER reading the drives you already own costs nothing to run, however many songs you have — so charging for it would be charging for nothing. Hosting a mix so a stranger can press play in a browser does cost something, every month, for as long as the link lives. Pro pays for that.

Which is also why share links stay free. They are how most people meet DAWTER — somebody sends a mix, the person it lands on has never heard of it. Metering the one thing that spreads the app, to protect revenue from people who were not going to pay anyway, is a bad trade.

Before you decide

What happens to my library if I cancel?

Nothing. Your songs, bounces, notes, tags, merges and collections live on your own drives and in your own account, and no plan touches them. Cancelling changes what you can send out, not what you have.

What happens to links I have already sent?

They keep working for 30 days, then expire like a free link. A permanent link may be sitting in somebody's inbox, and killing it the day a subscription ends would break a conversation you were in the middle of. You are told this before you confirm.

Do my collaborators need to pay?

Yes — collabs are Pro on both sides. Sending somebody a share link is free and needs no account at all, so if you only want somebody to hear a mix and write back, that is the free route and always will be.

Do I need an account before I pay?

Yes, and the Get Pro button will take you to sign in first if you are not. A subscription is attached to a DAWTER account at the moment the checkout is created, rather than guessed at afterwards from the email address you happened to type — so paying with a work card or a different address still upgrades the right account.

Who will take the payment?

Polar are the seller of record. They take the payment, handle sales tax and VAT wherever you are, and send the receipt. DAWTER never sees your card number. Receipts, card changes and cancelling are self-serve in their customer portal, which you reach with the email address you paid with.

I am already using DAWTER. Does this change anything?

The limits apply to existing accounts too, so it is worth knowing where you stand. Links you already have out keep working — only new ones are refused while you are over three. Collabs you own go quiet rather than being deleted, and come back exactly as they were if you subscribe. Stems already attached stay. Nothing in your library is touched.

What if it does not do what this page says?

Ask for a refund and you will get one. It is one person reading the message.
