Plans and billing
Free is the app on this Mac. Pro is everything that leaves it.
Free, forever
Scanning, organising, tags, notes, progress, bounce detection, waveforms and playback — across all six DAWs, for as many songs as you have. No song limit, no trial clock, no card. A desktop app reading your own disk costs nothing to run, so none of it is metered.
Free also includes share links: three at a time, seven days each, and collection links of up to 40 songs. Sharing is how most people meet DAWTER, so metering it would be the worst possible trade.
What Pro adds
- Links that do not expire, and no limit on how many.
- Collabs — creating them and joining them.
- Stem folders on a song.
- Collection links of up to 100 songs, instead of 40.
- 10 GB of hosting instead of 1 GB, for bounces DAWTER has to store because they are not in your own cloud.
Pro is monthly or annual, and checkout says what each costs — it is the one place the price lives, so it cannot be out of date here. There is a free trial; your card is charged when it ends unless you cancel first, and the date is shown on your account page and in the app under Settings.
Who takes the money
Payments are handled by Polar, who are the seller of record. They take the payment, handle sales tax and VAT wherever you are, and send the receipt. DAWTER never sees your card number.
Receipts, changing a card and cancelling all live in the customer portal, which you reach with the email address you paid with — Polar emails you a code rather than asking for another password.
Cancelling
Self-serve, in that portal, whenever you like. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Then the part worth saying plainly: your permanent links do not die the moment you cancel. They become 30-day links instead. A link that never expired may be sitting in somebody's inbox, and killing it the day a subscription ends would break a conversation you were in the middle of. After 30 days they expire like a free link. Nothing in your library is touched, ever — the songs, notes, tags and bounces are all local and stay exactly as they are.
Refunds
If DAWTER did not do what this manual says it does, ask for a refund and you will get one. It is one person reading the message.
